Adam is an exceptional Electrician & Smart Home Expert. We recently completed a major whole-home renovation, and Adam was our smart home l contractor throughout. It was a complex, multi-contractor project with delays on other trades’ sides — all of which created a constantly shifting programme. Through all of it, Adam remained patient, flexible, and professional without a single complaint. Adam designed and installed a full Loxone smart home system covering lighting control, underfloor heating, multi-room audio and home cinema, intercom, gate and garage door controls, etc. This is not standard electrical work — it requires a genuinely different skillset: understanding of logic programming, network infrastructure, communication protocols (including Modbus TCP, CAT6a networking, and IP addressing), and the ability to make all these systems talk to each other seamlessly. Adam went above and beyond in helping us integrate our solar and battery storage system into the Loxone platform with immersion heater diversion logic. He was always happy to engage on the technical detail and think through problems with us — even remotely, via video call in his own time. Adam also installed a full Reolink CCTV system — 6 cameras with NVR, person and vehicle detection, and colour night vision. We are extremely happy with it. Throughout the entire project, Adam was always responsive on WhatsApp, always had a considered answer, and always made practical suggestions that saved us time and money. I would never look for another electrical contractor. For any electrical work, and especially for anyone thinking about a smart home system, Adam is simply the first call to make. Chris

I had a great experience with Adam from Surrey Smart Home. He was consistently responsive, replying quickly to questions and keeping me updated throughout the process. His diligence really stood out—he paid close attention to detail, made sure everything was properly explained, and followed through on what he promised without delay. I would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for reliable smart home support.

Had an issue with my lighting system due to a power surge at my home. Adam was on holiday when I contacted him, but he phoned and tried to diagnose the issue anyway. He came round and sorted the issue as soon as he was back, a few days later and not only sorted the problem, but he put in some surge protectors, to ensure that the issue doesn’t reoccur. Arrived on time, charged exactly per his quote and really went above and beyond to help me out. Everything you would want from an electrician.

I was very impressed with Adam’s professionalism and work . He provided a detailed quote and options . He then did the agreed work scope and resolved several electrical issues I had in the house. The scope increased at my request and Adam resolved and fixed these issues. He was always on time, very tidy and very competent. I highly recommend him and his services.

We are very happy with the service provided by Surrey Smarthome and would highly recommend them. Adam listened carefully to our requirements for an integrated smart system controlling security, heating, lights and sound system, and installed the Loxone system for us. He is extremely conscientious and professional, going above and beyond to adapt the system to our particular requirements and spending time making sure we understood exactly how it all worked and maximising its clever features and versatility. We like the fact that everything can be controlled from one ap and appreciate his ongoing availability if we still have questions or need to make changes in the future. An excellent all round service.

Adam did several jobs for me over the years and - besides his technical knowledge - he is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He is an excellent communicator and is very reliable, which means he takes out unnecessary stresses from projects, whether big or small. He is someone who takes pride in his work. I keep going back to him and have recommended him to friends as well. Keep up the good work, Adam!

I was extremely lucky to find Adam's company after 2 other companies failed to solve several Loxone faults. The combination of his knowledge of technology and electronics is unparalleled. On top of this the level of customer service and determination to achieve was something which is sadly missing in a lot of other companies. I cannot recommend this company enough. Well done indeed!

Smart FAQs

Read our FAQs which may help you find what you are looking for.

Smart Technology for Traditional Homes

Yes, we can install Loxone smart home automation in older properties, including Victorian and Edwardian homes. Many properties in Walton-on-Thames and East Molesey have original features that deserve careful protection.

We assess the existing wiring and layout before recommending the most suitable installation approach. For example, wireless or hybrid solutions can reduce the need for extensive cabling and disruption. Alternatively, major renovations provide opportunities to install a fully wired system.

Our aim is to integrate modern technology while preserving your home’s character, comfort and appearance.

Choosing the Right Smart Home Technology

Both wired and wireless smart home systems offer excellent automation options. However, the best choice depends on your property’s layout, existing wiring and renovation plans.

For new builds and major renovations, we generally recommend a wired Loxone system. Loxone Tree technology provides reliable communication between lighting, heating, security and other connected devices. Planning the cabling early also makes future expansion easier.

Alternatively, Loxone Air wireless technology is ideal for existing homes where extensive rewiring would cause unnecessary disruption. It allows us to add smart switches, sensors and automated controls without running new communication cables throughout the property.

We can also combine wired and wireless technology in one integrated system. This hybrid approach works particularly well for larger or older properties in Walton-on-Thames and Molesey.

We’ll assess your home, discuss your requirements and recommend the most practical solution for long-term reliability and flexibility.

Understanding Smart Home Installation Costs

The cost of smart home installation depends on your property’s size, chosen features and installation requirements. A single-room lighting upgrade will generally cost less than a complete Loxone home automation system.

For example, integrating smart heating, lighting, security, automated blinds and multi-room audio will require more equipment and programming. Existing wiring and the extent of renovation work can also influence installation costs.

However, you don’t necessarily need to automate your entire home immediately. We can discuss your priorities and design a system that allows for future expansion.

Every property is different, so we provide a tailored quotation based on your requirements and project scope.

Planning Smart Home Technology Early

Ideally, you should plan your smart home installation before electrical work begins on your new build or renovation. Early planning allows us to coordinate Loxone wiring, data cabling, lighting circuits and control equipment with your building plans.

For example, we can identify suitable locations for switches, sensors, heating controls, network connections and the central control cabinet. This helps avoid unnecessary alterations, additional cabling costs and disruption once walls and ceilings are finished.

We can also work alongside your architect, builder or electrician to integrate smart home technology into the project.

If renovation work has already started, don’t worry. We can assess the progress and recommend practical wired, wireless or hybrid solutions for your Walton-on-Thames or Molesey property.

Adding New Features to Your Existing System

Yes, Loxone smart home systems are designed to support future expansion and upgrades. You can add new automation features as your needs change, subject to your system’s existing hardware and configuration.

For example, you might introduce automated blinds, additional lighting controls, smart heating zones or upgraded security features.

Loxone Tree and Loxone Air technologies also provide flexible options for connecting compatible devices. This can make it easier to extend automation into additional rooms without replacing your entire system.

We can review your existing installation and discuss suitable improvements, including any necessary hardware or programming updates.

Keeping Your Smart Home Running Smoothly

Yes, we provide ongoing support to help keep your Loxone smart home operating efficiently after installation.

As your requirements change, we can help adjust lighting scenes, heating schedules and other programmed functions. We can also assist with troubleshooting, system updates and adding compatible smart home devices.

For example, you may want to adapt your automation after renovating a room or extending your property.

Our aim is to provide long-term support, helping your smart home remain reliable, practical and easy to use.
